Project Background
A leading educational company that provides K-12 contracted instructional services to schools in the U.S. faced a challenge in meeting diversity spending requirements related to their customer (or city/state government) contracts that necessitated a certain level of spending with minority-owned businesses. However, the client itself was not a certified minority-owned company.
Services & Solutions
To address this issue and meet the diversity spend requirements, the client needed to partner with a certified minority-owned company to subcontract payroll services. Zempleo successfully applied for state vendor certification in specific states where Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) status was required. Zempleo partnered with the client to fulfill the required payroll services subcontracting needs. This partnership allowed for the seamless onboarding of educational instructors and family support and professional development staff, ensuring that they were ready in time for school openings as per the school district’s predetermined schedules.
Outcome & Results
As a result of the successful collaboration between the client and Zempleo in addressing this diversity spend challenge, the client has sought further support from Zempleo to manage additional school districts in multiple states. This demonstrates that the partnership was effective and led to an expansion of the client’s ability to support additional state school districts and private education systems.
